Biopathologist
Dr. Theofanis Angelopoulos was born in Athens, Greece where he graduated from the Athens University Medical School. He underwent his post-graduate studies in Biopathology at the prestigious Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France. His extensive training includes Microbiology, Virology, Immunology, Parasitology, Hematology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Hormone studies. He subsequently pursued further specialization in Virology at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, and in Biology of Reproduction at the Université Paris Sud.
After working at some of the most reputable Hospitals of Paris, he continued his scientific work in the field of Reproduction, Infertility and In-vitro Fertilization in New York, USA, first at the New York Hospital – Cornell University, and then at New York University (NYU), where he became Assistant Professor. During his stay in the United States he was in charge of many basic research and clinical scientific projects, which he presented at numerous international congresses and published in many of the world’s most prestigious medical journals.
Dr. Angelopoulos returned to Greece in 1999, and since then he is the Scientific Director of his clinic and collaborates with some of Athens’ best private Hospitals. He speaks fluently four languages: Greek, French, English and Italian and has some basic knowledge of Spanish and German.
Besides routine Medical Laboratory services, his expertise in Advanced Laboratory testing, Andrology, Male infertility and Sexually transmitted infections is greatly appreciated by people from all over the world, who visit his clinic due to his international background, extensive scientific formation and the individualized, compassionate and comprehensive care he provides to his patients. He is married and a father of four children.
