Or Gonadotrophins, they are hormones that act on the gonads and regulate normal growth, sexual development, and reproductive function. These hormones include: follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). LH and FSH are secreted by the anterior pituitary gland, while hCG is secreted by the placenta .
There are various preparations of gonadotropins for therapeutic use, mainly as fertility medications.
